Olukayode David Akinlofa is a Nigerian artist based in Ontario, Canada. He is known for his exceptional realistic pencil portraits of graphite and charcoal media. He is also known for his realistic life drawings with colored pencils. His works personify various scenes of contemporary African life.
My Story
I am Olukayode Akinlofa.I've been drawing and illustrating from when I was little. I started realistic pencil art in 2014. I developed it during the lockdown in 2020. During this time I found a new sense of joy in creating hyper-realistic works. I've followed the works of many world known artists particularly Arinze Stanley and Kelvin Okafor who both hail from my country.I use graphite and charcoal as my art mediums. I particularly love the graphite medium for it's fineness and it's ease of hatching. A tip I always took from watching Kelvin Okafor.My artworks are mainly inspired by the attributes everyday youth and teen life
